Dubai part 1
Dubai was super duper fabulous, be the trip, the people, the food, the shop, EVERYTHING. Yeah, we finally meet-reunited after for more than a month being apart.
We left for KLIA on a bright noon and reached DXB airport exactly 620pm local time. We got someone from the hotel waiting us. Jaz was working and promised to come back asap once he got his work done. Only after 3 hrs later he managed to be at the hotel, and oh God, its so refreshing to see him again. Efi was all happy and excited and straight away bonding again with the daddy.
The sight seeing
We hopped on a BIG BUS on the second day. The tix cost us AED120/person for adults and its free for efi. The tour is divided into 2 section, covering a city and beach tour. Its freakin hot in Dubai and we tried our best to stay strong. There is more than 20. We hopped off at few places, like the museum, souks, city centre, beaches, burj, jumeira and a lot more. It is so FUN. In my opinion, this is the best way for u to seeand digest the city. At least u can cover eveerything. The tix is valid for 24 hrs, and we were lucky we got an extra 12 hours extension.
The city
Dubai has so many development on-going and targeted to complete by 2008. Its amazing to see how fast the managed to gain in the past few years and what the plan to achieve in the next 2 years. The city is ful of colors from its people and the buildings too. Most of the people are foreigners be it professional or not. You will be seeing lot's of Asian people working at the mall, shops, hotels and boutique. The xchange rate is about the same as us. Their money is pegged to USD at $1USD=AED3.67. So not much differ with our money which xplain why I splurge a lot without feeling guilty. At least I am not worried abt the xchange rate losses.
The shopping
I tell u, they have more than 20 malls and it contains lots of speciality store and branded stuffs and whatever. My personal favourite is the Deira City Centre. It has almost everything and is excess of children goods. Most of the shops are the same like what u see in KLCC but more extensive. Children stuffs was abusive. I bring back one whole load of bags for efi stuffs alone. Gila. One thing, the hotel provides a free shuttle to-fro Deira. So, whenever I feel like itching to shop, i just hop on it and freely shop in it. Mmg ampeh. Pricing wise is not that cheap lah. But if u come during the shopping carnival(its on January 12-Feb12 every year), pls make sure u buy extra luggage or something. Its going to be very cheap.
Anyway I am considered lucky coz its the start of Summer Part Sale. So we got a massive part sale too at Gap, Next, Debenhams, M & S, Millano, Banana Republic, Timberland and the list goes on.
